Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms

Do you have a working smoke alarm in your home?  A smoke alarm is the first line of defense to protect your family in the event of a fire. Most serious fatal fires happen in the middle of the night and your family needs to be prepared. 

Did you know that, smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years? Batteries should also be changed every time we change the clocks with Daylight Savings Time. 

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous, odorless, toxic gas that can cause severe injury and even result in death in some cases.  A CO alarm alerts occupants of the presence of Carbon Monoxide inside your home.     

 The Bethany Santiago Fire Department has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide smoke and CO alarms at no charge.
